You inspired me to create my own steampunk gun. I'm very curious, what tool do you use to make those scratches over the gun's surface? And, what kind of glue you use to attach the tiny gears to the gun's body? Silicon is a bit messy, you know...

I need to ask, because I couldn't read it on the link.  How did you get that worn look in your paint?

I loved this the first time I saw it. Recently I thought it would be fun to try and paint one, with a copper base color rather than steel, and I like how things have turned out. Sadly, the gun has lost some of the original detail due to all the coats of paint... It was the first time I had tried anything like this, so I had to keep fixing all the mistakes I made. ^^; Still, I'm satisfied with the result.

Thank you for the idea, and for providing the guide. :D

I was planning to take a picture of it and post it soon. And if nothing else, I'll probably wind up attempting the project again in order to fix some mistakes...

I wanted to keep it in working condition, so I did not modify the air pump or the barrels, as the "power upgrade" part of the guide suggested. But I apparently used too much paint on the interior and the inside of the barrels (which may have been a bad idea ^^;), and as a result the gun is gummed up and won't fire the darts corretly. It still looks fairly nice, though.
